Conference on Applied Linguistics 3

{ Tags: , , , , , , , \ Jan14 }

conaplinGlobalization and the greenhouse effect are two issues now appearing in our daily discussions. Globalization will integrate our social and economic activities into a global system. Free trade areas, such as AFTA, NAFTA, ACFTA, and cross border education will benefit one country, but will disadvantage another. The greenhouse effect will be a serious threat to life in this universe. It is a factor causing climate change that will reduce food supply and increase the number of accidents and natural disasters. Solutions to both the problems of globalization and global warming are quality human resources, which are the result of quality education.

Quality education is the outcome of quality subject teaching, including language teaching, such as English teaching. Quality ELT will come into being if the quality of language teaching processes and other accompanying variables are assured. In other words, quality language teaching should be supported by quality curriculum and methods, material development, assessment, teaching and learning processes, learning strategies, and the integration of information and technology and cultural awareness into the language teaching context.

Based on the description above, the conference will aim:

1) to promote the application of linguistic studies in language teaching and learning

2) to promote the implementation of quality assurance in every aspect of English Language Teaching and learning.

3) to share information, ideas and best practices in quality language education.

You are kindly invited to present papers on a relevant topic of your choice on one of the following areas:
